Duet Hostel & Hotel

We stayed in one of the private rooms for a night. We booked last minute as our previous accommodation wasn’t great so we cancelled a night early. Duet was SO nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was great value for the price. The cafe/restaurant is a great addition and the food was lovely. They don’t include breakfast but instead you can just order breakfast items from the menu. I actually preferred this as the food was so nice. After this stay we went out of Karakol for the rest of our trip… we had an issue with the next accommodation and so we just came straight back to Duet for two more nights 😂

Kay and the staffs are very welcoming and friendly. They are always available go assist with their knowledge about any trips around the Karakol area. This is the place to be if you want to gather up buddies for a hike and beyond. The food in the cafe/restaurant next door serves pretty good food in decent prices. There’s also a Globus about a 7 minutes walk away with ATMs and an another smaller supermarket across the street. The property is clean, and the bed is already made and there’s towels and slippers provided - something not common in many of the places I’ve stayed in around Central Asia. It’s no big deal but the details are always appreciated. There’s also a free traditional music festival in the yard every Sunday. It makes the place lively and get to know the local culture. All in all, I recommend all to come stay here in Karakol!

It’s a good hostel and there isn’t anything I dislike about the property but more of a suggestion to the hostel and to guests. Even when there’s AC in the dorm room, it can be warm with 12 people inside. There isn’t a shower gels or shampoo provided so bring your own. The laundry washing charge is a bit pricey. If you want to do laundry by yourself, maybe a self washing spot would be nice. The slippers provided can run a bit small especially for tall and those with large feet. The kitchen cooking utensils are a bit old, ie loose handles, or broken handles. The food served in the cafe/restaurant can run a little small in some dishes like the pasta and noodles.

The hotel has a hostel, hotel and a coffee shop. The food at the coffee shop was so delicious! The hotel rooms were well kept and featured Kyrgyz touches. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially for planning activities and calling taxis. I would recommend the Duet hotel!

I really liked the hotel; it was a 15 minutes walk or so from the center of the town but otherwise comfortable and clean, good value.

Останавливались здесь на две ночи с женой в рамках путешествия вокруг озера Иссык-Куль. Атмосферное местечко с приятным персоналом, особенно спасибо управляющему Коле. Брали отдельный номер с собственным душем и туалетом. Все отлично. Кровати удобные, постельное и полотенца белые, в целом везде чисто. Есть бар-кафе, можно попить кофе, пиво и перекусить. Отдыхает очень много гостей из Европы.
