La Tortuga Hostel

Mona and Said are amazing hosts and the best diving instructors I ever had. The hostel is great to learn diving, they are very professional but at the same time familiar. Not like one of the big diving schools where instructors come and go, Mona will really take time for you and share her joy of diving. It’s a great place to stay also if you don’t want to dive. The hostel is very chill, travelers hanging around with volunteers and locals, making BBQ in the evening or enjoying the roof Terrasse. And Taganga is very close to Santa Marta but has the plus of three very nice beaches and a much more relaxed atmosphere.

Some stuff needs maintenance or replacement, but Mona and Said are working on that ;)

Nice location. Privat room was what we expected for the price. The view in the evening was stunning. Not that social.

There was some error, so we couldn't pay by cart.

Such a wonderful spot, the people that work here are so kind and friendly. They really made me feel welcome and have handy tips about the area :) Gracias x

Hostel has great facilities with the upstairs bar, pool and hammocks. Good value private room with bathroom and room was clean.

The kitchen was yuck so it wasn’t a pleasant cooking experience. Bed in the room was terrible, it was just made of foam and the shower in our bathroom hardly drained.

Everything was good. Staff very helpful and hostel is comfy. They are have safety room for backpacks and safety boxes. Very quiet place with beautiful Seaview.

The place has so much potential but it just feels pretty neglected. The common areas were dusty, pool wasn’t super clean, and our room wasn’t ready for us when we checked in. There’s no air conditioning, the showers aren’t good, and the kitchen is dirty and not super accommodating.
