Bauhaus Astoria Hostel

Good location, staff was friendly even if I sometimes didn't understand his english.

I think I can handle some discomfort and I have stayed in a number of hotels, but this was the worst so far. It's probably a former flat turned into a hostel, which means there is literally a single shower for all guests. The photos here are deceptive - it looks like you sleep on the bottom bed of the bunk and can keep your stuff on top, but no, the top bed is also occupied and there is zero room for luggage or your things in general. The kitchen is small and dirty (my slippers were sticking to the floor), not enough dishes, no dishtowel to dry them. The hostel is located on a very busy and loud road - maybe that's the reason why the blinds were closed all the time while the lights were on in the middle of the day? The doors had to be locked from the inside as well using two different keys - I don't know what the fire safety protocol can say about this. In general, I didn't feel comfortable or safe and left to find a better accomodation.

Great price, very friendly and accommodating host, comfortable bed, and an excellent location near the center with the airport bus right across the road

It’s a cheap hostel, so as expected it’s quite noisy, and while there’s no air conditioning however it is still relatively cool inside.
