"Simple, Efficient, and Budget-Friendly – A Pleasant Overnight Stay"

8.0

I was happy with my stay at this hostell! As someone who arrived late at night, I appreciated the clear, step-by-step instructions provided for self-check-in. The location is excellent—close enough to main attractions and public transport, making it easy to explore the area. While the room was basic, it was clean and had everything I needed for a short stay. For the price, it’s a steal if you’re looking for an affordable, no-frills option for a night or two. Perfect for solo travelers or anyone prioritizing convenience and budget.

"In the end I had a good time since I met really cool people, but the place needs to improve"

Location, and staff is good.

It is an apartment made hostel, but needs proper care for receiving guests. Smell was bad on the entrance.

There is nothing to like !

The main reason I chose this hostel was precisely its location in the central part of the city, which turned out to be of particular importance due to the purpose of my trip, which was business-related. I explain this to make it clear that it was not some cheap price that lured me into the misery I encountered. My job is such that ending up with many people in one place — sleeping in shared rooms, eating together, or sharing common sanitary facilities — is not new to me. However, I believe that a price of 45 euros for something that by no European standard qualifies as hospitality was far beyond reasonable pricing. When I arrived in the late afternoon on Good Friday, a day when people were already celebrating, I was forced to circle around an intersection where, according to the location on Booking and Google Maps, the hostel was supposed to be located. However, there was no sign with the name of the hostel anywhere, and I continued to wander around... I tried to recognize some landmarks from the photos I had seen online, but everything looked different in real life. After several fruitless rounds around the same intersection, I decided to call the reception. I connected to the phone number listed on Booking under the hostel’s name. Thank God, a woman answered. But it turned out that she was not a receptionist, but another lady who had to make an additional call to have someone unlock the door for me. That did not happen immediately; we ended the conversation after she advised me just to press random buttons on the intercom. Again, without success. Naturally, people there are not expected to open the door to a random passerby from the street. After three more calls on my part to the lady from the provided phone number, they finally managed to unlock the door. I was staying for just one night — and thank goodness. The hostel turned out to be a repurposed apartment. In the room where I stayed, there were eight people. There were two other rooms with bunk beds.

"Very poor"

2.0

Although it wasn’t the cheapest option (I paid €15 for a night), it was by far the worst hostel I stayed at in Budapest. It felt more like a regular flat that the owner had converted into a hostel. I didn’t see any staff other than a man who was the owner I suppose. If you arrive late, be prepared for a treasure hunt just to get inside. Despite informing the property that my flight would arrive after midnight, I was sent a long list of instructions to access the building. I had to go through several locked doors—some with codes, some with sensors, many of which didn’t work properly. It took a frustrating amount of time and effort just to reach my bed and sleep, which is unacceptable for any hostel. Guests should be able to enter in and check in easily regardless of arrival time as long as they inform beforehand. When I finally got in, the flat was not clean, and the bed was uncomfortable. The only positive aspects were the central location and the fact that the heating worked well.

"Good for short stays"

9.0

Location is amazing, super close to Astoria station so it's good if you're just in Budapest for a short amount of time and want to be close to the airport shuttle. The place is basically an apartment with one room with 4 bunk beds. Not a traditional hostel but the person working there was super kind and friendly. Loved it.
