Chillax Khaosok Hostel - SHA Certified

Only stayed to go to the floating bungalows, probably the worst bed I’ve ever slept on, but at the end of the day it’s a hostel

We stayed here the night before our trip with Chillax to Khao Sok national park. It was great for the night. The staff were super friendly and helpful with arranging pick up from the airport and onward travel.

The bed was okay

The reception staff wrongly charged me £200 and refuse answer any of my messages and refuse to initiate a refund

Reception was helpful with any problems. Fine for one night.

No windows in the rooms downstairs. Was meant to stay in a 4 person mixed dorm but it smelt of damp and mould so paid an extra £13 to upgrade to a private room (£30 in total for 1 night) but realised after paying it also had no window and no en-suite either.

When I emailed to say my bag had been infested with red ants from my stay here and asked if anything could be done, I have had no reply and no sort of communication from the hostel nor an apology. poor service

The hostel is conveniently located in Khao Sok Village and fine for a night’s stay before the overnight bungalow trip. We had a private room which was fine - nothing special and quite expensive given it’s a hostel.

We did the overnight bungalow trip through Chillax and whilst the trip itself was wonderful, the hostel staff are some of the rudest, most unprofessional people I’ve ever come across. Following the tour, we had organised a transfer to Phuket through Chillax - service that is described as ‘premium’ and ‘exclusive’ (don’t believe this as every company offers the same). We, along with the rest of our tour group, were under the impression that we would be picked up from the lake and taken to Phuket. However, we were dropped off at a bus station in the middle of nowhere, where there was zero communication and one member of staff who spoke no English. I messaged Chillax to enquire what was going on, as we were told we would have to then wait two hours for the bus. The Chillax team then responded “why are you being so moody? Is something wrong? You seem upset about everything lately” - it goes without saying that this is a disgraceful way to speak to paying customers, especially given they were the only people who could have helped us out. I tried calling and messaging but was ignored, so we were essentially left stranded, feeling quite unsafe, with no information until a public bus showed up 2 hours later. We then arrived in Phuket about 4 hours later than we were told would be the case.

Stayed here before the floating bungalows and found it to be a nice stay.

Maybe only stay here if doing the bungalows as it can be quite chaotic in the morning whilst people are boarding for their trip.
