Wake Up Weligama

The hostel has a really nice and chill vibe. The owner is very nice and I've had a great time there. The location is also good, not on the busy main road but you can still be at the beach and the city center in 10-15min walking. There are also moskito nets on all of the beds.

It’s a really familiar hostel, quite small and super cozy ! Every day there’s events in the hostel that you’re welcome to join if you’d like. And also, the owner is amazing, so nice and friendly! The location is perfect, you can easily walk everywhere in town.

The vibe at this hostel was amazing. The host is very friendly and kind and it really feels like coming home.

But to be fair, the hostel it self could be better. The kitchen was quite dirty. The rooms were fine but keep in mind that there is no airconditioning. There are fans, but for me it didn't do the job, so this resulted to not being able to sleep at night during the heat (but that could just be my issue). The bathroom is also very basic as to be expected for the price, but the shower sometimes hardly worked. Overall it was okay, especially for the price.

Comfortable beds, big rooms, nice lounge areas

this place is something special! it feels more like a summer camp then a hostel. Mahesh, the owner is the most kind hearted person, welcoming to every new face and always glad to help, joining and organizing many activities. everybody’s very close with him and with each other. they keep you updated about events in and around Weligama and about their plans. you can join whenever and have alone time whenever. there’s a couch area to hang out, selfmade kombucha and the beach is close. mahesh did something wonderful here.
