Highland Basecamp

Nice location and close to the ferry. Good facilities for a hostel. Well equipped kitchen. Basic rooms, but beds are comfy, and there are enough shelves and hooks to put your belongings.

There was a large group staying when we arrived, and they had taken over the lounge, so we didn't really get a chance to sit and relax there in the evening, but that can happen in any hostel and didn't really matter. We didn't meet any of the staff, so I didn't put a rating for "staff".

Comfy beds, good kitchen facilities. Fabulous location.

Very clean and had the bonus of an honesty box and food/cold drinks etc available as no shops or restaurants open on a Monday

We stayed overnight. The cooking facilities were great, showers had really good water pressure, beds were really comfortable - no complaints at all!

The whole place is set out really well with a great kitchen/lounge area. En-suite showers. The honesty box for food supplies is a great idea….we’d bought some luxury ready meals from Ardtornish (which were fab) but otherwise would’ve made use of the freezer stuff.

Only improvement would be setting up a bank transfer/card payment system for the honesty box
