Highland Basecamp

Brilliant facilities, super clean, fab location by the ferry. Met interesting people. Loved the recycling and environmental efforts. Great quirky stuff like the crabbing kit. Loved the “honesty shop”. All food available in a freezer and shop with an honesty box.

An ideal base for outdoor activities. Excellent kitchen facilities (shared obviously). Comfortable lounge and eating areas (indoors and outside). Comfortable bunk bed (max 2 people per room). A new whisky distillery Nc'nean the Gaelic name (from 2017) is 11 miles away!

Nothing comes to mind.except length of bunk bed for tall people - e.g. over 6ft

Fantastic location, comfortable accommodation with excellent facilities - the kitchen - dining room - lounge is a treat. Helpful, unobtrusive staff working entirely behind the scenes.

A great, well appointed hostel. Reminded me (pleasantly) of places in NZ. Clean rooms with ensuite bathroom. Great communal kitchen, dining, lounge area, outside seating and decking, honesty shop... brilliant! Friendly bar down the road selling pizza by the key as well.

Odur coming from bathroom waste pipes was a shame. Floor tiles in the bathroom are slippery when wet - not a problem for me but could be for someone.

Room opened onto veranda by car park.. motorcycle secured right outside room. Very new and clean, great kitchen and lounge, honesty shop in case you're stuck. Folk to chat with as travelled solo. Staff not evident, but great if needed.
