Barn Laos Hostel

Very friendly staff and everything was very clean and tidy. The lounge area was cozy and inviting and the rooms were, although no windows quiet and comfy. Breakfast was self-serve and just enough to get you full. One of the nicest hostels I’ve stayed at during my two month SE Asia travels.

Hostel is in a good location on a very quiet road. The staff were very helpful and our room was very clean. They provide tea & coffee as well ad a good basic breakfast. Super clean hostel in both the communal areas and room.

Nothing negative to say really. We stayed only 1 night and it did the job!

Nice shared dining and lounge area. Helpful staff can help arrange transport eg pick-up for railway station, cheaper than Grab. Bicycles available to rent. Pay by card or cash. Decent location - quiet but a short walk to the centre and nearby café's. AC worked well in dorm. Good breakfast - simple, but more substantial than other places I've stayed in Laos.

Room is quite small and a bit stuffy with no natural light (though that does help keep it cool).

- Bathroom is clean and has enough toilets and showers. - Breakfast included but it is very simple; you can make toast or eggs yourself.

- Rooms are very small. Beds could use some new curtains. - No toiletpaper in the toilets. - Only stayed here for 1 night, but don’t think it’s a very social hostel as there was almost no one there.

Homely Clean Helpful boss

There was ac and a mosquito net in the room (which was needed). Most of the staff were friendly. Kitchen facilities if you need them including free coffee and drinking water. Free breakfast items which you could make yourself (could be positive or negative)

Room was quite small, with limited space for bags and no window. It didn't feel well maintained as there are lots of cracks and gaps in the wall. The entire place had lots of mosquitos and flies which was a bit off-putting. Lots of prohibiting signs everywhere which didn't make the hostel feel that welcoming. There was also a CCTV camera which faced into the bathrooms, although I'm sure it couldn't see into the showers it was a bit odd given that whole bathroom space was very open.

The hostel was nice and clean. We stayed in a female dorm which was nice. We were lucky as both our beds were next to the doors, but the room was cramped and it was difficult for the A/C to properly circulate the room. The lockers in the room were great as they were able to store our large backpacks, but again, it was a squeeze past everyone else's beds to get to the lockers. The beds were comfortable and quite large and good privacy curtains. The showers were relatively clean, but on the day we were leaving, I believe they were doing a big clean of the whole hostel. The breakfast consists of two eggs per person (your bed number is on the front of the pack so you know it's yours) which you cook yourself in the kitchen. There are some fruit, vegetables and bread on offer also. We liked the breakfast, but I understand it is not for everyone.
