Happy Inn Lodge

Very close to the station just 1Km from Interlaken west. The big kitchen is a plus. The location is ideal, close to the supermarkets as well. The bar is nice for watching football and drinking beer.

The room is a little bit small.

Excellent price for the location. Decently sized pub area with food on the cheaper side.

Staff were quite rude, annoying and disrespectful, they would talk fast at you and not listen (I was given a pint of beer even though I tried to explain I wanted a litre), the world cup was on however, so they were understandably busy. My card didn't work on their machine and the bartender implied I had no money on my card, likely joking but a little disrespectful. There are no privacy curtains in the dorms. I'm not sure about other rooms but our room appeared to have no AC and was extremely hot. There is also little bedside storage space

Location is PERFECT, Staff were extremely nice and located about a tavern they were just so friendly and helpful. Could not recommend this place enough.

The showers were shared both women and men and you could sense people were a bit uncomfortable with that and that’s fair

The hostel offers an excellent location at a very reasonable price. It is extremely convenient for getting around, with the nearest bus stop just a 3-minute walk away. There are also plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby, making it easy to find food and essentials. The room was reasonably clean and came with a sink, which was very convenient and added extra comfort to the stay.

Cleanliness could be improved. Since the hostel has a restaurant on the ground floor, the hallways often smelled of cooking oil. The number of showers and toilets also seemed insufficient for the number of guests, and they were not always cleaned regularly. On several occasions, we found the facilities dirty. Communication before arrival was also difficult. We tried contacting the hostel through Booking.com messages, but did not receive a response. While I understand that the staff may have been busy, it would have been helpful to receive at least a brief reply. Additionally, when we arrived late on our first night, we realized that no shower gel or shampoo was provided. Since the nearby Coop had already closed, I asked a male staff member at the bar whether it was possible to purchase some from the hostel. His response was simply that we should shower with water. The way this was communicated felt dismissive and unhelpful, which left a negative impression of the service.
