Super easy to find and had all facilities on site.

Was only there one night, so difficult to find fault.

Basic YHA accommodation in en-suite rooms. With an average age of 70, the "youth" aspect of the group was stretching things a bit! There are a nearby breakfast opportunities at the bike hire shop or on the station but the town's down a long steep hill so think carefully about your evening pleasure! Also, be warned, on a Saturday night in April you can't get food in an Okehapton pub or restaurant after 2030 except from the excellent Graylings (fish and chips) ... but it shuts at 21:00. I assume things are better in summer. The YHA is perfectly situated for the Granite Trail (or walking on the moor). Highly recommended.

I had a great one night stay with my young daughter. The first room we were given (room 7) was not so nice – there was a wet patch in the corner on the floor and window was old (so maybe it was leaking?), but before we could even think about asking to be moved a lovely member of staff came in and moved us to the room across the way, which was lovely, warm and much more comfortable. The place in general was great and facilities perfect for us. Staff lovely and helpful.

There was a group of 30 boys and men staying, and they were very loud in the upstairs lounge (which was above our room) until 1.30am. I know its a youth hostel but having a bit of respect for other guests would be nice. Renting the whole place out would have been a better option for them maybe. Just feel that as they were still very loud at around 11pm when the staff would have been finishing, it could have been made clear to them that they needed to be quiet and respect other guests. Saying that, I should have got out of bed and mentioned it to the staff myself, but didn't want to leave my daughter.
