Amazing hostel, close to Medina Square, and the host was really helpful. This is the best hostel in Tangier.

Bien situé, ils envoient un vidéo pour trouver facilement l’endroit. Beau rooftop. Coffre qu’on peut barrer pour sécuriser nos effets personnels. Rideau pour espace privé pour chaque lit, avec prise et lumière. Cuisine et frigo disponibles. Je recommande, j’ai bien aimé mon séjour à cet hostel! :)

My experience at Tangiers Hostel in Tangier was mixed, with both positive and negative aspects. On the positive side, the beds were clean and had privacy curtains, which is useful in a shared dorm. There is also a laundry service available for an extra charge. One of the other staff members (a second administrator, who is also a musician/producer) was much more welcoming, understanding, and helpful compared to the main receptionist.

On arrival, the main issue was that the hostel doors were closed and there was no one at the reception. I tried calling several contact numbers multiple times, but no one answered. As a first-time visitor in Morocco and the medina area, this was a very stressful situation after a long journey, and I had to wait outside without clear information or assistance. The main receptionist was not present when I arrived, did not apologize for the situation, and did not clearly provide important information at the beginning while I was still stressed and trying to understand what was happening. However, overall management could be improved. The hostel is located in a narrow alley inside the medina, which can be difficult to find for first-time visitors. The bathroom facilities were inconsistent, with water temperature changing between hot and cold, making showers uncomfortable. Some furniture also appeared old or unstable, and the locker provided for luggage storage had a broken door. Another major issue was the lack of quiet hours. As this is a riad-style hostel, guests gather in the common area downstairs, but the noise travels throughout the building. During my stay, conversations continued until around 1:00 AM without any enforcement of quiet time, which made it difficult to rest. Overall, while there are some positive aspects, the lack of professionalism on arrival, closed doors, and weak management significantly affected the experience.

Clean, good beds each with a charge point, light and curtains. Nice roof terrace and kitchen. It is arranged and managed with attention to detail in a very clear and thoughtful way, with guest's interests at heart - unlike many hostels. Also it gets properly cleaned every day. After booking I got a WhatsApp message with information, including saying it's only for people aged under 50. On enquiry, I was told this is because of the number of stairs. Yes there are many, but typical of hostels in medinas. I (reasonably fit 64 yrs) had no problem at all, nor with accessing the upper bunk. Good Wi-Fi, great location and roof terrace.

Most dorms looked lovely, but one (mine) was very cramped and not enough space for a locker for each bed, though one was provided on another floor, so a minor inconvenience.

Otros clientes no respetaban el horario de guardar silencio lo que resultó en una noche sin poder dormir. El personal intervino y la siguiente noche era mucho mejor. El lugar no era muy limpio y salía un olor desagradable del baño que era muy fuerte.

The staff was polite and nice. Best location in the Medina.
