Tangiers Hostel

Staff was very helpful all the time. Knew the answeres to questions. Had vidio to find the hotel as in a back street in the medina. Had a basic kitchen. Nice view from the top floor of the madina ETC. Area is in a historic and interesting area. Building is a beautiful old historical type building so nice to be in. Price is OK for what you get. Safe area and safe room. Patio on the roof area and just under the roof area so good in warm weather. Room at the top is quiet. Room size OK. Hot water works. They do have several signs on near by buildings with arrows showing the way to the hotel.

Was hard to find at first as in a back street in the medina and taxi cannot go to hotel so you have to carry bag up stairs and in a small street for walking only. Hotel is several floors high but staff will carry your bag up and down the stairs. Google maps show the last part as walking and can get confusing. You need to look at the vidio they supply as to how to find the place. Need to know where to tell the taxi to let you off before the walking part. Room can get cold in the winter even with the heater. Need bigger heater. The light level in the bed room is far too low. Need to buy much bigger light bulbs and take the shade off the light so one can read ETC. Appeared to have an idea that low light was nice for bed room but not true. We like hotels with strong lighting in rooms as can always turn if off if you do not want it. Need to provide a good floor lamp for the room

Tangier is terribly overpriced. I paid €12 per night, which is €2–4 more than what I paid in Faro, Porto, Budapest, Kraków, and even Dubai. Tangier seems to be copying European prices, but the quality is nowhere near comparable. There is no heating or cooling system, no kettle, and no microwave. Even when hot water is available, it is not on demand. In terms of quality, the accommodations in Tangier are far more comparable to what you might find in Thailand or the Philippines. Given that level of comfort and amenities, the price should be closer to €4–6 per night. That said, I suppose you have to experience everything in life—and one of those experiences, apparently, is being overcharged in Morocco. On a positive note, the prices do not increase significantly over the weekends, which is a very common practice in many parts of Europe.

Que no sirvieran desayuno tampoco hay una cocina en condiciones como para poder preparar algo , quizás por falta de espacio

This hostel was recommended by fellow backpacker and i am 100% satisfied. Beautiful place with an awesome staff. STAFF IS GREAT HERE! great hostel environment and view from rooftop. One of those hostels backpackers look for. Here it is !

Having to leave... this place is one i will miss

They had the option to safely store my bike. Amazing terrace view
