Hostel 99

Had the 8 bed room to myself, great location, bathroom was clean, no bunk beds which was nice.

They provide a very short checkin window from 3pm to 6pm. When booking any place, I assume there will be someone at reception til at least 8pm. When I arrived at 7pm, there was nobody at the hostel to answer the door and the phone number listed on booking.com didnt work. Fortunately, the adjacent restuarant was open and I was able to find someone there to check me in. There was also an odor in the bedroom and I'm not sure they clean the rooms as there was quite a bit of dust underneath the beds. At least the bathroom was clean which is what really matters.

The location was great, just outside the most touristy area. The dorm room was large, cool, quiet and dark so ensured a good night sleep. The attached terrace restaurant also very good as was the cafe opposite.

There did not appear to be "dedicated" hostel staff and the young staff at the restaurant covered it. They were polite and friendly but didn't really seem to know much about the hostel or visiting the area. Limited food shopping in the immediate area to self cater.
