Rafiki Hostels - Dahab

yes, there is a social vibe, but I think most ppl who are amazed by it (in their reviews) just never have been to a hostel. there is no place to chill out and connect. the kitchen with a few cushions on the floor and a pool that nobody wants to put a toe in is small and uncozy. no music. closes at 10pm, which is a bit earlie for a place like dahab without a bar culture. so if you stay in a dorm you may meet young travellers to chat and maybe drink with. if you stay in a private room, you rather book sth at the beach for the same price as you will be living in a different building and somewhat cut off --> the ppl working there are very nice and kind, they help you always and do so quick in person or via their WhatsApp chat

- the privatroom (as also one of the dormroom building) are far away from the beach, like 10min walking, on a busy road where egyptians keep honking well into the night... - the breakfast is very basic and not very tasty, had it only once and went to restaurants afterwards - the family dinner was basic egyptian food, but overpriced and you had to wash up your plates yourself. wouldnt recomend that.

Very Clean and amazing staff

The staff are friendly, the place is very clean, and their activities are fun. It's a very social hostel. I'd stay here again.

We accidentally booked Rafiki Hostels instead of Rafiki Oasis, and when we asked to change it, we were refused. Although both properties belong to the same company, they said they could not change the booking. Nevertheless, we stayed at Rafiki Hostels, and here is some feedback: The hostel is old. As a result, everything there is old and worn out. The window in our room did not close properly, the door did not have a proper lock and always made noise when opening or closing, and the lamp did not work. Overall, there were more things that didn’t work than things that did. Although the staff clean regularly, the place is not very clean. For three days there was a strange smell, and we asked the staff to fix it (the cleaning staff cleaned but did not try to get rid of the smell). Later, we were told that it had been a gas leak the entire time. Thank God no one decided to use a lighter or smoke, because honestly, I don’t know if I would be writing this comment now. During the last two days of our stay, there was no Wi-Fi.
