The Dolphin Inn Hostel

Fantastic stay at the Dolphin. Having never stayed in a hostel before, I really didn't know what to expect. It surpassed my expectations and there were bonus guest experiences. Tea and coffee can be made whenever you desire. The breakfast put out on Sunday morning was amazing for both adults and children. The other guests were tucking in to cereals , toasts and jams. My dog was welcome in the common areas. Everyone was so friendly

This hotel was lovely and very reasonably priced; much cheaper than staying in Edinburgh but easy to get to Waverley station by train which runs every hour and takes just 20-25 minutes. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is a well equipped kitchen and also basic breakfast items (cereal, toast, tea, coffee, milk) for guests to use. I will certainly be staying here next time I have business in Edinburgh.

The rooms were a bit cold - however I do feel the cold more than normal. The lady at reception kindly turned my radiator on for me when I asked, and also lent me a hot water bottle which i really appreciated.

Everything is simple, straightforward and exactly what is needed. Clean, warm, great to have place for cooking andd eating. All is thought out for breakfast, simple, good quality, easy to use. Great location for swimming and running along the sea

A hostel, but with boutique-like quality. Bathroom is only shared by two bedrooms and the common area is well stocked with utensils and cutleries. Additional bread and simple snacks are also provided. Other esthetics—more precisely, quirky retro of the 70s—further elevate the quality of the night stay. Staff is all smiley-face, earnest, and eager to provide assistance. Bed is very comfortable, sturdy, and each room is even stocked with simple books and magazines to keep one occupied.
