Location and ambience of Cafe is nice

The bunk bed that i got in women's dorm was a lower bed but without any head space! The flooring needs to be cleaned atleast twice daily due to sand. The bathroom drain was open and stinks at times. The toilet seat was Terribly stained and looked horrible and we had to ask 3 days for the management to change it which they finally did. The food in the Cafe is over priced and lacks taste. I ordered chicken wrap which had two thin & small sticks of fried chicken and salad. The parking inside isn't available for guests and do read that car parking outside is payable - 200 or 300 per day!

Amazing location very near to beach and some hidden gems in the village. Amazing ambience at the common area. Thumbs up to the hosts for that. Clean rooms and sheets couldn’t ask for more. AMAZING AMAZING people from all around the world sharing their life experiences. Amazing staff members always ready to help and suggesting good places to visit.

A little bit costlier for a single room stay if you want to stay for a long time. Outside drinks not allowed specially in the common area and the drinks inside were marked up a little (maybe that’s how it goes in Goa, was my first time)

Perfect for Backpackers. Liked In house hostel cafe and daily hostel events. It's one of the best hostels i stayed. Lively atmosphere.. always buzzing with tourists. Helpful reception and staff.

Felt Dorm room i stayed in was dark because lack of natural light inside

The hostel gets the basics right: it's located well, has clean rooms, sheets & bathrooms. But what sets it apart are the staff who make you feel at ease within 5mins of checking in. The hostel plans a group activity everyday that helps solo travellers engage with everyone else staying at the hostel. The owners DK and Sophie are friendly and very approachable. Their staff Amisha, Rohit, MK, Akash, Shraddha and Piyush felt more like new friends by the time I was checking out.... So when I extended my trip in Goa for a few days I came right back to stay at the Funky Monkey. Special shout out to all of them who took care of us not only at the hostel but even if we met by chance somewhere outside beyond their regular working hours.

Perhaps the Wifi could be a little better/consistent, but then again the Wifi was weak and drops at most places I visited in Goa.

Location was good. Social activities at the bar were good.

Can't bring outside food or drinks to your room or common area.
