Friendly and helpful hostel staff :) The dorm was warm and cosy; the showers were excellent! Great facilities overall. It was quiet when I stayed (off-season) but I imagine it would be very sociable in peak season, as there was lots of common space and sofas etc.

"Expensive for facilities available."

Location was great - just off the main street and very close to both food shops, bus station and the rest of town. Beds were also comfortable, despite not being able to control the heating in the dorm.

The general vibe I got was that tourists and SWCP hikers passing through were subsidising several longer term residents. Bathroom facilities and access was not pleasant. To access the toilets and showers, you had to leave the dorm, walk down the stairs and outside, through the 'outdoor lounge' (smokers hangout) Fine in summer, but less than comfortable during heavy rain, when it was dark, cold, wet and covered in slugs. The bathroom block itself was also small, cold and only had one tiny hand sink in a corner and no shelves or hooks or anywhere really to put your toiletries whilst using the sink. Didn't look like it was thoroughly cleaned all that often.

It was laid back and the owner gave so many information and nice chats. Don't go if you expect something fancy.

The rooms were really dark. That people keep stealing things out of the common area. We are all travelling don't be an idiot. The owner tries so hard.
