Great location. Comfortable bed and clean room. Easy to rent scooters and sign-up for activities. The host Naomi is the BEST—she made me feel welcomed and cared for!!! (You’ll want to stay longer than you think!)

Kalinda Homey is a bit like a home away from home. The room is quite cosy and very suitable for a couple with child. The bathroom is clean and water pressure is good. Bed is very comfortable. Air conditioner good and cold. Location is in the center of the village, close to everything which is all walkable. Breakfasts provided by the homestay were fine. All the staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. The homestay booked our 1 day snorkeling boat trip and provided car transport from the airport and also to the ferry terminal. We also rented a motorbike from the homestay for venturing outside of the village and exploring the beaches. The breads, cakes and gelato provided at the bakery were all excellent. I normally am not into sweet things but the bakery did tempt me a few times. The coffee shop next door produces the best cappucino/latte that I have had in all of Indonesia over many years.

Not really a complaint but the large mirror in the room should have been placed higher on the wall. It is ok if you are no taller than 140cm:)

A great thing about this hotel is that they pick you up at the port when the boat arrives and basically drop you right at your bed. Communication over WhatsApp, both before arrival and during the stay, worked perfectly and everything was arranged to my full satisfaction. The room description mentions a garden view and a terrace, but in reality my idea of a garden and terrace is very different from what is available. That was the only part that disappointed me a bit. Combined with the fact that the room has no window and only one ceiling light, it feels quite dim. Sure, it is nice to have a bakery with donuts and croissants just a few meters from the door, plus ice cream in the freezer, but I would still prefer an actual window. Breakfast here is excellent and never repeated, which felt like real luxury. Drinking water, hot tea, and coffee are available 24/7. There is hot water in the shower, a mosquito net, air-conditioning, and a comfortable mattress - those were definitely the highlights for me. I slept very well. Earplugs are recommended though. When it rains, the drops drum on the metal roof and it is loud, but that is simply how metal roofs work everywhere. They also start sweeping the “terrace” around 6:30am, so if you want to sleep until eight, earplugs are the only way. Overall, I recommend this place.

Las habitaciones están en la parte trasera de una panadería, con puertas rotas con algunos agujeros, humedad y techos con grietas (agujeros) y moho visible desde fuera. La primera noche nos cayeron hormigas muertas desde el techo dentro de la mosquitera. Aunque nos cambiaron de habitación, las condiciones siguieron siendo malas. Incluso para un cambio de toallas hubo que insistir varias veces. El precio no se corresponde con lo que se ofrece.

El desayuno fue el mejor de todo el viaje. Es rico y variado, con parte dulce y parte salada. La ubicación y la facilidad para contratar motos y excursiones además de ayudarte con el ferry e irte a recoger y llevar. El personal muy amable, todos.

Es una homestay real. No es algo malo, simplemente es una apreciación. Es un lugar barato sin ninguna comodidad extra. Habitación pequeña, sin ventana, sin baldas ni espacio, sin ningún tipo de lujo. No apetece estar en el lugar si no es para dormir. Las zonas comunes son muy pequeñas y hay que compartirlas con todas aquellas personas que van a comprar dulces a la panadería. Por ese precio, es lo que se puede esperar.

J'ai adoré mon séjour à Kalinda Homey! Naomi est incroyablement gentille et vous prépare les meilleurs petits déjeuner que j'ai pu goûter! L'emplacement est parfait, vous pouvez louer des scooter, Booker des activités. Je reviendrai avec grand plaisir à Kalinda - Karimunjawa me manque déjà Merci pour tout et à bientôt.

Dormitory room Kamar mandi bersih, water heater lancar, ruangan bersih, tempat tidur nyaman dan bersih, pemilik ramah, breakfast enak, lokasi dekat dengan alun2 dan pelabuhan ikan, menyediakan penjemputan di pelabuhan, menyediakan sewa motor.

AC susah dingin, tapi itu tidak menjadi masalah 🙂

Die Unterkunft hat eine gute Lage. Sie befindet sich nur wenige Meter vom Alun Alun, der großen Wiese, auf der abends/nachts die Tische des Fischmarkts aufgebaut sind. Die Gastgeberin Naomi ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Sie hat uns gleich am Hafen empfangen und uns einen Transfer zur Unterkunft gestellt. Innerhalb weniger Minuten hatte sie auch Motorroller für uns bereitgestellt, sodass wir unverzüglich die Insel erkunden konnten. Sie bietet auch die organisierten Schnorcheltouren und alles weitere was der Gast wünscht an. Wir hatten einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt. Bei der Abreise hatten wir einen Ladestecker im Zimmer vergessen. Flugs hat mir Naomi eine Nachricht geschickt und uns unverzüglichen Stecker zur Fähre gebracht. Sie ist einfach super aufmerksam und hilfsbereit 😊

Es gibt nur spärliche Möglichkeiten sein Gepäck auszupacken. Man muss leider aus dem Koffer, bzw. Rucksack leben

We stayed 4 nights and each morning was a great breakfast, one morning was egg and avocado on toast, one was french bread and dragon fruit, one was a triple layered toasted sandwich, they were great! Also, Naomi was incredibly helpful, she helped us organise taxis (there is no grab on Karimunjawa) and also a snorkelling trip and our ferry tickets back. There are 6 in our family so we booked a dorm room to ourself, it was basic but fine, the children liked the bunk beds. The bathroom was fine, it’s a hostel so they don’t check rooms, empty bins etc during the stay but that’s ok.

You had to turn the bathroom light on to heat the shower which took maybe 30-40 minutes of you wanted it hot, we got used to it though. Not the hostels fault, but at about 4am about 3 (maybe even 4) mosques go off at the same time and it’s VERY loud as they are close by.
