Amphitheatre Backpackers Lodge

The food was excellent. The staff, especially Pumsele, were so kind and fun! With a teenager, it was great to have the pool, the pool table, and the climbing wall, as well as a large lawn area for frisbee.

We felt the room was quite small (we had the quadruple room). It would have been nice to have a fan as the windows were small, but the room remained cool due to the shade.

Great views, lovely grounds and interesting bar area.

The evening staff were not friendly and the welcome show around was not very pleasant or informative. Better communication in advance would be helpful for the tours. Hot water in the shared bathroom was almost dangerous. Morning staff were lovely. Non alcoholic drinks menu was depleted. The driveway is very potholed. The kitchen is dark and rundown. The bedroom curtain did not keep out the light.

Cleanliness wasn’t good. Found hairs in the bed I was supposed to sleep in.
