Really cool place! I loved the family feeling and the breakfast and dinner together! I regret to not have spent more time arounf to enjoy all the facilites and the service they're offering!

It's just a bit far from the city, but you will not feel the problem since you can do some nice activity there!

La atencion de Tonas fue excelente. Tomó realmente el tiempo para recibirnos y es una persona muy "guay", como dicen los españoles... Nos dió mucho buenas recomendaciones sobre las visitas de la isla. Las chicas también fueron muy gentiles y dispuestas a ayudar. El lugar es muy bonito y lo mantienen estupendo. Muy limpio y el desayuno de 10. Ofrecen muchas actividades como el surf y yoga. El lugar esta muy centrico y fuera del trafico del centro. Ciertamente me gustaría volver.

Quizas, tener un espacio para poner el jabon en la ducha, pero la presión del agua y las modalidades de la ducha, excelentes.

The bathroom was not bathroom. Toilet and shower was beind a curtain. There was no desk in room, aso not on balcony.

+ Absolutely gorgeous that all guests eat at one table in the same time for breakfast (apparently there are shared dinners as well); from other guests I have learnt about the daily trips to different parts of the island (paid) and other half of the day you have a free surf class- I would have loved to know that from the staff during check in as then I would have planned my day accordingly! + yoga equipment available to be used + swimming pool, hammock etc. outside as well.

-Check-in experience was poor – waited over 30 minutes outside as staff (Eva) was partying and didn't hear the bell. When finally let in, was handed the key with a dismissive “You stay for one night yes? So I don’t have to explain anything. Breakfast is 8:30.” No warm welcome, very surprising for a place rated 9.2. - Breakfast confusion – arrived at 8:30 with no explanation of how it worked. Staff seemed too tired from the night before to greet anyone and explain that they are preparing a special dish for breakfast. No question asked about allergens either. - Noisy room – thin windows let in traffic noise all night; no blackout curtain, so headlights lit up the room constantly. - In bad weather room is really cold and humid- small heating is provided but with those thin windows it is still cold. - Lack of communication – only found out from other guests that there are daily paid trips, free surfing classes, and social dinners. None of this was explained at check-in. -Feels like a hostel at hotel prices – loved the concept and the guests, but the staff’s attitude and overall experience didn’t match the price tag.

Tomas and the house staff are incredible. I arrived at Salt lips by accident but ended up staying for an additional four days because the accommodations were spacious, the bed were soft, and the breakfast was heavenly. In addition, the surf package made it affordable to catch some waves, get a good nights rest, and enjoy the lovely island of Sao Miguel.
