Great location, the owner is very friendly and even provided us with recommendations of where to go, the locations were all mapped out and separated into different days. The property is beautiful with lots of amenities.

We liked the location and the owner Thomas and Anna (who worked at the house) were very nice. The accommodation organizes excursions and yoga lessons and there is chef in the evening who offers vegetarian dinners.

The bathroom in the room behind a curtain where the wardrobe supposed to be is not OK. We had no place to put our clothes and the “bathroom “ wasn’t really functional in terms of privacy towards your roommate. The girls who are supposed to work in the house didn’t do any cleaning, our room wasn’t cleaned for 3 days and they finally did it only after the we wrote to the owner about it. Same situation with towels. All together the girls were mostly busy with their own agenda and paid little attention to the guests. We understood that they work for board and it doesn’t really work for the paying guests, since it feels like you are living in a hostel where you pay as if it is a proper hotel while others pay nothing, but you don’t get any of the proper hotel service. We think the owner needs to decide whether it’s a guesthouse(and hire proper staff) or a camping hostel (which should be charged accordingly ).

Salt Lips is an amazing place to stay on your vacation in the Azores - the staff is incredibly nice, and they are always available to help you. They provide daily tours and activities which makes the experience much more satisfying, as you know that you don't have to worry about anything. The house gives us a sense of community because you meet everyone during breakfast and create new friends. We loved our stay and we would come back, without thinking twice.
