Sugar Hostel Weligama - Coliving & Coworking

The hostel was perfect. It was clean. The kitchen had everything that was needed. They provided a nice, locked cabinet in the dorm room. And a big, fluffy towel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was so nice and quiet, which was perfect for me. There weren't many guests so perhaps at other times there are more opportunities to meet people and play all the cool games in the lounge area, but I enjoyed the quiet.

This hostel has SO MUCH potential, but it's so vastly neglected. On the one hand, you see the workers swiping and cleaning the floor every day, but the kitchen is left with everything unorganized with many non functioning utilities thrown around the area, dishes left in the sink for days. The room also has trash that was left on a chair for all the days I was there. No trash can to throw it in. Half the lockers were not functioning and broken. No hand soap in any bathrooms. These are just some of the things that need to be addressed. Simple fixes to the hostel will make it such a better place. The place is already nicely decorated.

Location is good.

Rooms are looking not the same as foto on Booking. Very loud. U can literally hear small sounds from other rooms. For same price in weligama u can find much better option.

Coworking Space was really Nice

The Dorm had mold on the ceiling, the bathroom door was broken, so everytime you closed the door you were locked in inside. My sheets had stains and everything was kind of dirty, especially the bathroom. When I told the staff, they got really angry and told me that they would be cleaning every day, but the trash and dirt had been there for days, so I checked out early..

Die Unterkunft war eine totale Enttäuschung. Das Zimmer ist zwar groß aber sehr dunkel, von 9 Lichtern gehen nur 2 Stück, die Betten waren sehr hart, die Klima war defekt und der Deckenventilator ging auch nicht wirklich, es gab erst nach Nachfrage Handtücher und Klopapier hat auch gefehlt, für den Preis eine Frechheit, ebenfalls wurde nach Ankunft bzw. nach Bezahlung das Zimmer von der Unterkunft storniert, um so eine Bewertung zu vermeiden bzw. die Booking Gebühren nicht zahlen zu müssen. Die "Deluxe Zimmer" sehen nicht annähernd so aus wie auf den Bilder.

super dirty, bad location, horrible staff. I was there for 5 days, and I saw 4 different people complaining about no toilet paper, or soap or towels or dirty beds, and they DON'T allow you to cancel your booking, or give you any money back. Otherwise, it will go broke for sure, horrible place
