Sugar Hostel Weligama - Coliving & Coworking

They have curtains in the dorms which is nice, and the people I met were really awesome! We bonded over how gross the hostel was for sure. Then the coworking space is a good idea but it is a a bit dirty with half the light bulbs out

-No water for a day -Pipe leak -Gas explosion in the kitchen -Rats in the room -Kitchen is beyond gross with a really nasty smell -Power outages -WiFi outages -No hot water

The facilities are nice, the area is well located.

The staff is kind but unorganized. There was an over booking, and they didn't deal with the situation in a good way. They gave me a private room and then put more people in the room. When I complained, they gave me a room that was dirty. It was around 11 p.m., so I decided to stay in the "private room" with the other girl that they booked even if she didn't have a reservation. The food is very expensive for what you get.

Good location close to the beach, nice big room. Staff were helpful and quick to move us to a new room when our door lock didn’t work.

The property was hard to find as there was no real signage apart from a small logo on the door. The street is very busy and hard to cross— also very loud at night as the main road is one side of the building and the train tracks on the other. The boho theme seemed to us like they had just only wanted to half decorate as alot of the paint work looked unfinished. The laundry service is just one washing machine in the back alley where the workers sleep.

Amazing location and building. I loved the open area when you come inside and the coworking area. The rooms were big with private bathrooms.

The water was not working multiple times. And the communal bathrooms were not clean and we had to ask for toilet paper multiple times, it didnt seem like they were restocking. But the staff was super kind and helpful about it all!

Die Lage war ganz gut. Zimmer war von der Ausstattung her okay.

Unser Bad hat extrem stark nach Abfluss gestunken - so ekelhaft. Trotz geschlossener Tür hat das ganze Zimmer gerochen. Personal war extrem verwirrt, sie wollten uns zuerst ein Doppelzimmer geben obwohl wir ein Dreierzimmer gebucht hatten. Und sie konnten alle kaum Englisch. Der Boden des Zimmers war voll schmutzig, es war ne richtige Schicht Schmutz. W-Lan extrem schlecht. Kein Warmwasser.

Very close to the beach and the happening centre .. staffs are friendly and helpful. I had an early morning bus , one of the staffs named tutu helped me with the big suitcases

Didn’t get coffee in the morning but I could buy from the street across as there are multiple cafés around

It’s a well maintained hostel situated right at the center. Very clean & friendly staff. I extended my stay after reaching here. It’s properly air conditioned … And hot water is also available
