"Great location, just off the Cleveland Way"

9.0

Great location, just off the Cleveland way. Lovely building with lots of space. Delicious breakfast. Excellent warmed drying/boot room. Friendly, helpful staff.

The only thing which would have made it better would be a bath!

"Comfortable stay but a little expensive"

8.0

Everything is new and clean. Breakfast was very good rather than being exceptional. Staff, especially Karen, were very friendly and helpful. Drying room is useful.

No tea and coffee making facilities in the room but coffee and biscuits always available in the downstairs kitchen. No TVs in the rooms. The single rooms are very small and quite hot as they have the radiator feeder pipe running through and can’t be switched off. A bit pricey.

The B&B has recently been renonated. Very friendly staff. Everything is clean. Good choice for breakfast which is freshly cooked.

The whole set-up of the B&B and the design of the rooms and the facilities still strongly reflects its youth hostel past and for that it is quite overprized.

"Not what we expected"

5.0

Receptionist is a lovely lady. Food was excellent. The place has lots of potential.

No TV in room. No tea or coffee making facilities in room. When I have paid £145 for a night I expect the very basics in a room. It needs to be advertised better that you don't offer these facilities. I would not have booked. You have a TV room which doesn't have a smart TV again not acceptable for the price paid.

"A night of comfort and warmth at a sensible price."

10.0

Great breakfast. Excellent drying room, which was much needed when I walked in from the Coast-to-Coast path! Staff were charming, friendly and helpful. Tasty pizza ordered for Saturday, plus a local Black Sheep ale. The best accommodation I stayed in during my walk.

No negative comments.

Upmarket hostel and worth the xtra money for the comfort, facilities and superb breakfast, lovely pub (the golden lion) in the nearby village of Osmotherley which is 15 mins walk away.
