Rata Lodge Accommodation

Great hosts .very helpful especially offing spray for the sandals. Well equipped kitchen . No shops in the area so need ro take your food and drink with you,though coffee tea and sugar was available. Really quiet except for the occasional noise from the trains. Only 20 minutes to Arthur's Pass

Friendly hosts and enjoyed our stay

We really enjoyed our stay at Rata Lodge. Vikki and her husband were wonderful hosts, and communication was easy from the beginning. They provided helpful information before our arrival. The lodge was clean, well organized, and the rooms were nicely furnished. The bed was very comfortable and kept us warm even on colder nights. We would definitely recommend staying at Rata Lodge.

This was a superb spot to stop overnight and we wished we had more time to stay longer! Vikki and Gerard were fabulous hosts and welcomed us and made us feel at home. Gerard was especially accommodating and patient with our son’s interest in his log splitting work. The room was perfect for the 3 of us and was so clean and neat with its own little ensuite bathroom and private balcony. We enjoyed the shared kitchen & lounge space as we were able to get to know other guests who were happy to chat. The walk up behind the lodge was fun to explore and the beautiful pristine mountain waters cascading down the creek were stunning to watch.

The only problem was that our stay wasn’t long enough. Next time we’ll book in for several days!
