Hostal On The Sea

The Host of the Hostal was very friendly and talkative. It also has a nice balcony right above the ocean, which is very nice. Also it was right in the city center with walking distance to the harbour

There was no room to place the luggage. It wan't possible to put it on the floor because the water was splashing through the floor. Also the bed didn't feel very clean

It was an amazing stay!

The location of the property is close to the center of Bocas del toro. The Hostal has a nice terrace with a view over the sea.

Unfortunately there was no hot water.

The loud Waves crashing hard from.Wind and rain. Kept us awake.

Didn’t feel welcomed. First when I arrived, she was juste awake but I arrived after 1pm. I had a reservation and when I arrived, the host told me there was no bed left. She told me I could sleep in her bed, but it felt kind of weird. She told me I had to be gone on the next morning. Then, someone doesn’t shows up and I could slept in the dorm, a bed stayed empty all night so there was enough space. The next day at 7am, she didn’t even say hi and ask me when I would be gone. I left immediately cause I felt like I was too much here. Also, don’t come there if you want a bit of privacy, Marta is kind of invasive.

I really enjoyed the stay. The hostel is simple, yes, but if you want to have an experience to stay in a house on the water, it is a good choice. The hostel has a very nice terrace with a sea view, it is possible to put a hammock to relax in the evening. The facilities are simple, but enough for a short stay. The hostess (Martha) is very helpful, eager to provide information and help with tours. The location is a little bit down from the main street, but very quiet at night.

Martha was the best part of staying.

This is more of a home stay, in the best way possible. Loved the host lady, she is a sweetheart and treats guest like family. The patio is beautiful, sunrises are spectacular and you can dive right in the water from it. The kitchen has everything you need and is very well kept. It was by far my most favourite plce to stay at, I felt welcome and at home, such a nice feeling, when you are far away, travelling for a long time. I would stay here again 100%.

There are no individual lockers, at first I was a bit afraid to leave my passport and important things, but I soon learned that it is completely fine. It is the home of the host, so everything is safe. Also beacuse it is on water there are a LOT of mosquitos and sand flies but that is something one should expect at a location by the water.
