Khao Sok Royal Bamboo Hostel

Our experience at this property was so shockingly bad that it left us speechless. The moment we arrived—exhausted, carrying our luggage after a 16-hour journey with no sleep—we were greeted with a cold, unfriendly, and dismissive attitude from the receptionist. Before even allowing us to see the room, she demanded a 1000 THB deposit, delivered more like an order than a standard procedure. We politely asked to view the room before paying, and it was immediately clear that this simple request annoyed her. She eventually brought us to the room, which was obviously already clean and ready. Since it was ready, we asked if we could check in a bit early because we were completely exhausted. Her response was a rude and blunt: “100 baht to enter early.” In all our years traveling in Thailand, we have never encountered such a fee delivered with such hostility. Despite her attitude, we agreed to pay the deposit and wait until 2 PM for the official check-in. But from that moment on, everything went downhill. Without any valid reason, the receptionist suddenly decided she wanted to cancel our reservation against our will. She repeatedly said she would call the booking platform to cancel everything, completely ignoring what we were saying and treating us with unbelievable disrespect. She left us standing in the lobby for over 30 minutes, refusing to give us any information, refusing to answer our questions, and behaving in a way that felt almost intentionally provocative. It was as if she was trying to push us out, even though we had clearly confirmed multiple times that we wanted to stay, pay the deposit, and simply check in at the correct time. In the end, we were exhausted, humiliated, and had no choice but to leave and find another place at the very last minute — which cost us four times more. This was a huge inconvenience, both financially and emotionally, caused entirely by the receptionist’s unprofessional, disrespectful, and frankly shocking behavior.

Zeker een goede kamer en gedeelde badkamer voor een hostel, ook netjes allemaal. Het personeel was super vriendelijk. Toen we advies vroegen ivm een tour tijdens slecht weer was ze heel oprecht en dacht ze mee, aanrader voor budget reizen!

Nice pool with very kind personal. We had an amazing stay. They booked for us a trip to Khao Sok Lake. That was also an amazing experience. We recommend a lot ! This is the best place to stop before going to the le lake.
