Local Hostel Amed

I don't recommend this place. All my money was stolen from inside the room. Inside the room, there is a locker which you can lock it with your own lock. The owner failed to tell me that if you leave money inside, the lockers is at your own risk. Instead, he said that the place was very safe. He has cctv, but when my money dissappear, he said it was not recording. All the doors are kept open 24/7 So anyone can walk inside all the rooms. I don't know if the owner is involved, but there was also locals staying in the hostel, but they were always asking the tourists questions,like how long you are staying here, where are you going today and they even follow tourists pretending to be friends. The locals didn't have any sightseeing or visiting places. They just stayed all day hanging around, which it was a bit weird. The day my money was stolen, I wake up and left the room around 9.30am and there was that local guy outside my room and he asked me again were I was going and told him I will be back soon , then I went to see the gate of heaven a very famous temple and I returned back to my room around 5pm and my money was already stolen. They didn't break the lock. Instead, they unscrewed the screws and opened, and the local guy was already gone. From that moment, the owner distanced himself. He was not cooperative and kept all details from the local guy privately. I reported the incident to the police but they didn't do anything, not even a report. They were laughing with the owner. I had a large amount of dollars because I was travelling for one year visiting many countries as a backpacker until this incident happened, and I had to return back to my country . It was a horrible experience. This is the reason I'm sharing it with all of you. Please be very careful in Indonesia because they appear to be very friendly, but they will ask a ton of questions to make a profile of you . I attached a picture of the local guy. Thank you

the staff was amazing, the restaurant down is really good and affordable

the breakfast and the cleaning is poor, but you can order to eat at the restaurant downstairs which is really good and really cheap too

the breakfast is bad, the bed is bad and also the shower is bad.every time i spoke to the manager i felt like i was disturbing him. he runs a restaurant on the ground floor and the hostel is situated above it with rooms with deformed mattresses and sunken rooms. the heat is unbearable and the bathroom is a communal area with sofas. the breakfast if you can call it that is main de pie with coffee or tea! and i asked if they had peseta better and they told me. there is butter juice here (out since we don't know when) and peanut pieces are just here together they told me they needed penné butter. it's the month expensive serte but i was expecting a miminun that i didn't get. Very cheap! Beds were quite comfortable, little curtains enable some level of privacy, charging plugs on all beds.

No towels provided/ available, rest rooms are not very clean.
