The 1964 Holiday bungalow

Il nostro soggiorno in questo ostello è stato meraviglioso. Posto stupendo, camere molto umili ma con tutto il necessario, cibo molto buono. Proprietari e dipendenti estremamente gentili e sempre a disposizione. Ci hanno aiutato in tutto, dall’affitto di motorini, spostamenti in tuk tuk/ auto e aiuto a programmare il nostro itinerario a Ella. Inoltre partendo dall’ostello, salendo, si puó fare una passeggiata stupenda in mezzo a piantagioni di the, senza turisti. Grazie ancora una volta di tutto! ❤️

Pressione della doccia e dell’acqua calda non ottime. Ogni tanto qualche piccolo problema con l’elettricità. Ma sono davvero piccolezze nell’esperienza generale estremamente positiva.

Trotz der sehr einfachen, etwas in die Jahre gekommenen Ausstattung würden wir jederzeit wieder hier buchen! Der Ausblick schlägt jeden gehypten Sunset-Point, das Essen gehört zu den besten, die wir in drei Wochen in Sri Lanka hatten (wir hatten zwei Abende Rice and Curry, und beide waren unterschiedlich, überraschend mit spannenden lokalen Zutaten, und sehr lecker, wie das Frühstück mit großem Obstteller auch!), und die Jungs, die das Hostel betreiben sind super nett und hilfsbereit! Fair warning: es ist ein gutes Stück außerhalb, was uns sehr gefallen hat. Wer aber abends Party machen gehen möchte, ist hier vielleicht nicht so happy.

Die Zimmer sind sehr einfach und rustikal, auch die Betten. Es ist aber alles sauber und funktioniert, könnte aber eine Erneuerung vertragen. Der Weg von der Straße hoch ist in keinem guten Zustand, ist andere eine staatliche Straße, so dass die Betreiber hierfür keine Schuld trifft. Wer wie wir mit einem eigenen TukTuk oder Bike kommt, sollte die Strecke besser nicht im Dunkeln angehen.

La nourriture proposée

Ubytování je v krásném místě, večer byla vidět Ella a kopce v okolí, vč. osvětlené stúpy. Ranní posezení v síti bylo báječné, výhledy nádherné a všude klid. Trošku nás překvapilo, že se v celém ubytování nesmělo chodit v botech, přitom je to v horách a je tam poměrně chladno, hlavně večer. Objednaly jsme si na místě večeři, byla výborná, jen jsme na ni hodně dlouho čekaly. Protože jsme ráno potřebovaly brzy vyjet, nemohly jsme čekat na snídani - nevíme tedy, jaké byly. Pokoje se nám zdály docela chladné, ale měly jsme navíc přikrývku a bohužel netekla ani teplá voda. Personál byl velmi vstřícný a příjemný.

Byly jsme překvapené, jak daleko ubytování bylo od "civilizace" a příjezdová cesta k němu byla nezpevněná a do prudkého kopce. Byly jsme plně naložené auto, musely jsme tedy vystoupit a auto pomoct vytlačit, aby projelo až k ubytování. V koupelně netekla teplá voda.

Cet établissement est le plus charmant et le plus chaleureux dans lequel nous avons séjourné au Sri Lanka. C'est un petit paradis pour les amoureux de nature, de calme et de simplicité. La terrasse et le petit jardin sont magnifiques et offrent une vue absolument incroyable sur les montagnes. Le personnel est d'une gentillesse sans nom( spécialement Manju🙏). La chambre et la salle de bain sont petites mais fonctionnelles. Les repas étaient copieux et vraiment délicieux. Un petit bijou✨

Clean, good location, nice staff!!

A wonderful place in the mountains surrounding Ella. Stunning view from the terrace, in the middle of the peaceful forest, perfect for bird watching and we even saw deer very close by. Owner and staff are more than welcoming, supportive and friendly. The food is amazing and really nourishes you after a long hiking day. There is a bus connection to town and tuktuk service is also available.
