I had an amazing stay at Drifters Hostel in Paje! From the moment I arrived, the place had nothing but good vibes—relaxed, friendly, and full of energy. If you’re traveling solo or just love meeting new people, this is honestly one of the best spots around. It’s incredibly social, and it’s so easy to meet people whether you’re hanging out in the common areas, chilling by the bar, or joining one of the nightly activities. The on-site bar is a major highlight too. The food is surprisingly delicious, fresh, and well-priced, making it super convenient to grab a great meal without even leaving the hostel. Whether it’s breakfast, dinner, or snacks between activities, everything I had was really good. The location in Paje is perfect—right on the beach front, it’s a walking distance to so many restaurants, and all the fun that the area has to offer. Whether you’re into kitesurfing, beach days, or just relaxing, Drifters puts you right where you want to be. If you want a place with amazing people, staff and fun nights, great food, and that unbeatable island vibe, Drifters Hostel is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Posto bellissimo , fronte mare , tutti i ragazzi che lavorano nella struttura sono gentili e simpatici . Ristorante semplice ma molto buono , anche i cocktail sono una bomba . Piscina piccola ma niente male , ogni sera c'è un po' di musica per conoscere gente e fare nuove amicizie. È a due passi dal centro del paese .

Drifters Hostel in Zanzibar is honestly one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. The owner, David, is incredibly kind, welcoming, and goes above and beyond to make sure everyone feels at home. The accommodation itself is amazing — comfortable, clean, and designed perfectly for both solo travellers and groups looking to meet people and have a good time. The location is absolutely unreal. You’re right on the beach with insane sunsets and crystal-clear water just steps away. It’s the kind of spot you think only exists in photos until you get there. Now the food… 11/10. I’m not exaggerating. Every meal is delicious, fresh, and really reasonably priced — especially for solo travellers on a budget. Whether you’re chilling, exploring, or looking to socialise, Drifters has the perfect vibe. Couldn’t recommend it more. If you’re coming to Zanzibar and looking for a place that feels like home but better, stay at Drifters. You won’t want to leave.

Bathrooms dirty and run down. Colony of ants everywhere and covered in bites. Staff unfriendly and unwelcoming. Felt awkward and unsafe as not introduced to anyone or knew who to contact

Ich habe meinen Aufenthalt in diesem Hostel direkt am Strand in Paje geliebt. Ich kite total gerne, und es war perfekt – ich konnte direkt vor der Unterkunft starten und den ganzen Tag auf dem Wasser sein. Das Essen war super, und die Bar war abends ein toller Ort zum Chillen. Die Zimmer sind einfach, aber genau richtig. Es hat mir so gut gefallen, dass ich ein paar Nächte länger geblieben bin und schon die nächste Reise gebucht habe!

Wir hatten im Drifters eine super Zeit. Die Lage direkt am Strand ist wirklich hervorragend. Trotz der Nähe zu allen Aktivitäten, hat man hier eine ruhige Atmosphäre und kann somit selbst entscheiden, was man gerade sucht. Vor allem die Mitarbeiter waren super! Trotzdessen wir uns in den Daten verbucht hatten, wurde uns schnell ein Zimmer zum gleichen Preis angeboten und es lief alles reibungslos und entgegenkommend ab. Wir kommen gerne wieder :)
