"Amazing! Loved it and can’t wait to be back"

10.0

I just absolutely loved this place, the river bungalow was so cute! Super relaxing to stay at the river, the food was also great, and the free kayaks to grab

There’s a lot of bugs at night but that’s to expect (and there’s a good mosquito net)

"Amazing location and experience but sadly had to leave early and sleep deprived due to constr works"

6.0

The view is the beautiful being right next to the river with the national park in the background. Staff is friendly and the food is great.

It was impossible to get more than 4 hours of sleep. Music and motor bikes from the bar next door till 11pm. Mosque morning prayer from 4am then construction workers came in from 6am with cranes, chain saws and machetes. Additionally, they created bonfires just 4 meters from our room, with ashes coming into the bathroom and all our clother smelling of smoke. We understand that some events are outside of the ability of the staff to change or prevent, but they could have at least communicated about it (e.g. not rent on these dates, gives guests a heads up, ask the construction workers to postpone work near the lodges till 8 am, or just apologise for the inconvenience)

"Magical rustic bungalow with stunning views!"

8.0

I absolutely loved the facility. Being outside of Kampot, the feel is much more quiet and local, which was a welcome change. The tuktuk to Kampot is about 15 minutes, so keep that in mind if you have lots of plans there. I stayed in Bungalow 8 at the end, and it was MAGICAL. A truly wonderful place to stay, the sunset over the river was amazing, and I could have spent hours in the hammock alone. I was also greeted with a lovely welcome plate of fresh fruit and juice, which was amazing. While this place is magical, it's also on the natural/rustic side, so keep that in mind if that isn't what you're looking for. I personally loved the bathroom, with the coconut showerhead. The toilet is for #1 only, with a separate bathhouse for other needs, which I didn't mind. I'm sad I wasn't able to try to Khmer food, which is supposed to be amazing - I had to leave at 10:30am, and the kitchen didn't open for lunch until 11am, which was a shame. The property also had 2 free kayaks for use, which I took to the Green Cathedral at 7:30am. Highly recommend as it was so calm and quiet! I was struggling to find transport to KTI (Techo Airport) in Phnom Penh. Cheng at the front desk was able to find me a driver (who had aircon) for the drive with <1 day of notice.

There are notes to watch jewelry/SIM cards, as they can easily fall between gaps in the walls/floors. I also didn't realize that the room was open-air with no aircon (my fault for not noticing when booking), so the fan was a huge help when it was 31C, and the breeze off the river is great. I closed up my suitcase anytime I wasn't using it, as the geckos and spiders sometimes came to visit. I didn't mind them (the mosquito net was a huge relief though). I didn't hear the party music that people spoke of, but there are lots of sounds if you're a light sleeper - water lapping, boat sounds, critters, call to prayer - earplugs are supplied, but I am a light sleeper, so I didn't get much sleep. The mattress was VERY comfortable though. While the area seems to be safe, being the last bungalow on the end and a solo female traveler, I was mindful of security. The bathroom had a ~2m gap between the walls and roof/ceiling that could easily be scaled (the room itself had this gap too, but was covered with wood beams), and the locks on the porch doors weren't the most robust. I never felt unsafe, but combined with the sounds in the night (and being solo), I wasn't 100% relaxed.

"We were excited to return to eden eco village, however we were saddened by how run down it has becom"

5.0

Loved the view over the river. Female staff were very attentive and friendly. Food was great.

Our second stay here, has become very noisy, bar next door, loud bands playing across the river. Has been allowed to run down, few repairs done, rooms and compost toilet not cleaned during our stay of 1 week. This is basic accommodation however, it struggles even to live up to that reputation. I won't be staying here again. Bit sad really.
