Sunset Backpackers Hostel

Everything was reachable by walk. The staff was very nice and they helped me a lot when I had forgotten my money there. They have prepared a little free guide about the city wich was very helpful.

The bathroom could have been a bit more clean but for the price it’s ok.

We had a great stay at Sunset backpackers hostel and cannot thank the amazing host family enough. They are so patient, kind and hospitable. They helped organise Tuk tuks to and from the hostel from very reasonable prices, as well as onward travel. The hostel is clean and spacious and the wifi works very well. It was also well located within walking distance of everything we wanted to explore in the city. They price their drinks and food very fairly. A very honest and helpful family, a lovely stay.

We really enjoyed our stay and think it’s definitely worth the money you pay. There was some noise at night being downstairs and the room did smell strongly of smoke both nights. We think people were burning rubbish nearby. But aside from that, it was good.

Aniket and his father were incredibly helpful in pulling together a plan for what to do in Orchha and onward travels! They allowed us to check in early which was ideal after an overnight train. The location was brilliant - a short walk from the main sites but tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets.

The roof was under work so we weren't able to go up but the view from the second floor was still fantastic - a perfect spot to have breakfast.

Excellent support by the owner and supportive staff.

The bed was clean with fresh a bed sheet and fresh pillows. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They even arranged an autorickshaw for pick up and drop from the railway station.

There was no water in my bathroom the night that I checked in. The vibe of the place is more of a multi-story apartment than hostel.

Anikit and his family run their place with heart and that makes it so special. Would come to then again straight away!

Aniket and his family were very welcoming and made us feel at home :) He can explain everything you need to know about Orchha's touristic places: where to go, in which order, how much it costs, where to go for sunrise and sunset. He speaks great English, so it's easy to communicate with him. Aniket is clearly very diligent, and always available to help. Orchha is not a huge town, but the hostel/homestay is in a good location - not even 5min to the bustling centre, yet in a quiet, family neighbourhood. The room was very spacious, the bed and pillows were comfortable, and the hot water worked incredibly well!!

The cleaning could've been a bit better (like a 7/10). As a very allergic person, the dust on the ceiling fan (which I did not turn on) and on hard-to-reach spots had me sneezing everytime I stayed inside the room.

Very welcoming friendly family, helping you getting around in Orchha. Room was nice and clean. Quiet location.
