Sunset Backpackers Hostel

This has been such a lovely stay at the Sunset- people are so warm - I felt so welcome - the room was super clean, the (sunrise ) view is stunning and everything is in walking distance - many thanks !

We were upgraded (for a small extra cost) to the room with a view of the palace - it was simply stunning and so nice to wake up to. The hostel was clean and central, but tucked away on a lane off the main road. The breakfast was cooked fresh and delicious. Recommend to book, especially the room with a view!

The location is okay, we got nice recommendations from the hosts.

There was lots of noise starting at 6am around the reception area.. bring earplugs

The family who runs this place came across as amiable and caring - they do their best to cater to the contrasting demands of all those who turn up. It's not a picnic by any measure - but they seemed to pull it off with grace and humility.

I only chose to come to Orchha after 3 days at Maha Khumba to relax on the back of the reviews of the Sunset. The town & this hotel did not disappoint.Far from it. Everything was great & I can't believe in the many trips I've made to India I've not heard of or visited this wonderful friendly & most interesting town before The reviews here all ring true & miss it at your loss. (I'm rather divided as to whether to speak so highly of Orchha & The Sunset what with all the talk of 'over tourism' lately. And the breakfast poha & chai is a great way to start the day.
