Favela Hostel

It is pretty clean, and a very good price for a private room, small shared kitchenette with microwave and bar fridge but no stove, not so far from public transport, Maksimir. Room had tv, wifi, etc. I think the owner has a good sense of humour with the items at reception and the above toilet signs.

Because of the price I think it is pretty good. Could be improved- No smoking signs with a fine listed feel dishonest. When I came for check-in it was aired out and no one was smoking, but as soon as I paid the owner started chain smoking inside and it goes to all the rooms. I wish the entire place didn't have smoking. For smokers it is ok but I chose it because I am sensitive to smoke. There outdoor areas are not for guests, they are signed to keep out. Something handy to know- I didn't really notice till I was settling in that there was a metal ring in the wall and a big bath towel on the bed instead of a top sheet. What you make of the non standard items, and how you feel is up to you.
