Riverstone Lodge

Based on the description of the property and other comments, we knew what to expect and the room met our expectations. It had a separate door that we could use to go in and out without having to pass through the entire accommodation and we could park our car directly there. The other guests were not teenagers so all were very quiet and respectful. We used the cooking facilities and there was plenty of space for several people to prepare food at the same time. We did not have the chance to meet the hosts but they were very communicative through WhatsApp and we check in and out without any issues.

The toilet had a small bowl, and the floor was damaged. All worked OK.

Clean and location is easy to access, parking space was arranged. Instructions to check in and check out were clear and simple

Mattress and pillows were too soft, like they had been used for decades. I had neck pain and back ache

Good value for money and great location for Tongariro Crossing as it is a short drive from Ketetahi car park. Also only a short walk away from town centre. Nice garden and spacious common areas.

We stayed 3 nights and never met a staff member. It would have been helpful to have some instructions on how to enter the property before arrival, as the door was locked and the instructions on it were a bit confusing. However once we had found and rung the phone number and got in it was fine.
