Hostel Balkan Han

The hostel is very cozy and social. The staff immediately makes you feel welcome with a free shot of home made Rakija, and you can get to know a lot of other travelers just by sitting in the nice common area (a court yard). Beds are clean and comfortable, and you are also provided with a towel. Showers are also clean and in a sufficient number for the amount of guests; I never had to wait much to take my turn. Overall I had a great time, and I want to thank Unkas, Edin, and the volunteers; they make up a great staff!

Letto comodo, abbastanza ampi gli spazi comuni

La cosa che ho trovato indecente sono stati i bagni. Pochi per i posti letto dell' ostello, piccoli, tutti raffazzonati. Mi domando se sia tanto difficile mettere più cura in questo ambiente perché ahimè è stata una situazione frequente

Dorms are literally on the street, so you can hear everything happens outside

Good social areas to meet other traveler’s

There’s a persistent musty dank smell on the upper floor where all the shoes in the hall are, the room ventilation is poor as well so smells bad in the mornings, can leave windows open but the noise from the street is loud. Showers are on a 20 second timer which makes it difficult to shower. Feels overcrowded a lot of the time. Gaps in toilet doors and showers preventing complete privacy

The backyard is really cool! Also the fact that there is a bar. The rooms are also very comfy and clean

Bathrooms could have been cleaner. No shoes in the living area rule, I don't feel comfortable sharing crocs with strangers 😅 There could b3 more activities like pub crawls etc.
