Spacious, feels homey, clean

I loved my stay at Mangamel hostel. Barbara and Rodrigo will make you feel like at home! The hostel is nicely located within a short walk from the center. The rooms are spacious, mine had a beautiful view on the surrounding area. There is a big kitchen equipped with everything needed, and a lovely garden. I really felt like at home - cosy and comfortable. I will definetely be back to Mangamel!

Nice room in a quiet location, very nice views, could even sleep with the window fully open without any mosquitoes coming to visit :-)

The room was not totally clean, there was thrash left from previous guest left under the sofa, but the bedsheets and the bathroom were spotless.

It's quite hot in the rooms without a/c, but we knew this before coming, and it's a budget option

Charming house in a quiet area of Lencois. Less than a 10-minute walk to restaurants and bars downtown. Two kitchens were available for guests, which were always clean. Nice patio with some trees. Coffee, tea, and cake were offered every morning, which was a nice treat.

Some items of the infrastructure were not very comfortable (chairs, steps to the room, light switches). The patio is nice, but you can barely enjoy it because of the lack of good chairs and the mosquitoes around. The volunteer staff was nice, but as they were always cooking and hanging around you could feel like the place was all theirs.

The volunteers were very friendly, the place was always clean and tide, and, even if they don't write it on booking.com, they offer coffee, tea, biscuits and a cake for breakfast (better then many hostel that they write breakfast included and it's a bit of couscous and bread)

I think that they should allow people to hung around after the check out for free (they charge 20 reais) and must also have more trust in kids (we went with our 4yo daughter, that has been traveling around 10 different countries, and immediately after the check in we received a message about not bothering other guests, otherwise we would have been kicked out, or that if the baby was going to break something in the room we should have paid for it... Not really kind, expecially since the place is not in a super quiet area, considering that brasilians love to hear loud music, also at night, and another night we were kept awake until 2am by the neighbors fighting and yelling). They said that they don't allow kids, but in the description on booking.com it wasn't written "adults only", as often I saw,otherwise I would not have booked, and in years traveling with my kid I never have to add her in the reservation, because she was always welcomed and staying for free.
