The hostel was very cozy and cute. Everyone who stayed was polite and up for a chat. Buma 🐶 is such a sweetheart and was very fun to play with! The garden is a nice place to chill and we even got some mangos from the hostel. Very tasty and so cool it came from their own tree! Plus the free coffee in the morning was a nice welcome ❤️

The beds were not the best, but for the price it was still a very good deal!

The hosts Barbara and Rodrigo are the coolest and nicest hostel hosts I’ve met. And I did stay st many hostels in the past 20+ years. They are friendly but not intrusive. They are relaxing but when you need help, they are there for you. When my ride didn’t show up for my overnight bus, they volunteered to drive me to the bus station without accepting anything from me! The garden at the hostel is a wonderful place with hammock and chairs/table. You can tell both bathrooms are cleaned regularly as they do live at the same premise. Overall I had a great stay there and would highly recommend this place.

Barbara and Rodrigo are the friendliest, kindest and most welcoming hosts and from the minute we arrived they made us feel at home. Due to extending our stay we stayed in 3 different bedrooms and we loved all of them; they were all clean, had lots of natural light and comfortable beds. The kitchen is clean and spacious and has everything you could need to make a meal and the garden has tables and chairs and a hammock for some nice relaxing. There was always a flask of hot fresh coffee in the mornings that guests could enjoy which was a lovely gesture. Barbara offers yoga classes in the garden which we took part in and really recommend and Rodrigo is an amazing guide who we trekked in the National Park with for 3 days. We’d really recommend you asking him about trips he does. We enjoyed some lovely conversations and socialising with Barbara and Rodrigo but at the same time they are both respectful of your space and privacy. We were so sad to leave MangaMel and can’t recommend it enough.

Mangamel provided us a feeling of family/home so fast! Barbara and Rodrigo helped us with finding climbing spots, connected us with the local community and shared valuable tips with us. The vibe in the hostel is just so warm - you feel like you stay at a friends place and it’s hard to leave. The kitchen is perfectly equipped and the shady garden a good place to cool down and rest. Nice beds, quiet at night. Would come back over and over again <3
