HI Penticton - Hostel

Friendly staff

Going to a concert with friends so decided to use this for cheap accommodation. Rooms were tiny with small beds, only one toilet for the whole floor which was smaller than an airplane bathroom. No AC or fans and it's the middle of summer so it was very hot in the room. Extremely dated hostel. I wouldn't recommend for a single night stay unless you can't afford to go anywhere else.

Love the staff and use of dining..kitchen ect. As well back yard nice picnic spot

No air conditioning. Before I booked this place i made sure there was AC and it was mentioned on the booking.com website that the room is air conditioned but there was none. I dont make a big fuss about air conditioning but it was very hot on the day i was traveling to Penticton around 40°

I am unsure how to evaluate this establishment. The staff was extremely accommodating, and I applaud their exceptional effort to assist us. However, there were some significant issues. Initially, when I made the online booking, it was for a different room. Subsequently, the room I had reserved was no longer available, and the communication attempts from the hostel seemed suspicious, as they came from a different number in Toronto that I assumed to be spam. Upon arrival, we were informed that only single beds with two other male occupants were available, which was not suitable as I am a female. Despite this, the staff member was very accommodating and managed to rearrange things so that my boyfriend and I could have a room together, which was satisfactory. Unfortunately, the room lacked air conditioning, and the temperature was nearly forty degrees Celsius. Given the unbearable conditions, I had to seek alternative accommodations at great expense during a busy weekend, costing me almost $800. While I appreciate the efforts of the staff under challenging circumstances, the property itself was subpar, and the online booking system was unreliable.

Maybe location... But we didn't stay long enough to really look around.

It was hot in the room, any conditioner.

It has everything you expect from a hostel. A community kitchen, a seating area with TV, few magazines, a patio and backyard, 3 stalls of free parking at the back and a warm host at the reception. I stayed with my partner, this was my second visit and I found them the same 2 years apart. The location is on a semi-busy street so you can hear cars passing by at night, that's a pain but acceptable enough. The private room was a little small, but we managed since this is a value-for-money place. They offer the cheapest option to stay in, and a kitchen means you don't have to spend $$$ for your meals. Overall recommended.

Women's washroom was clogged and not draining. My wife was unaware of it and was caught in a bad place. A warning would have been nice
