Heartland Hostel Samarkand

Pros: -great location walking from all major attractions yet far away from the noice. -Clean common area (not rooms) -Good Wi-Fi in common area (when the power doesn’t get off), Wi-Fi doesnt reach all rooms. -working AC in the rooms -they have coffee machine and laundry for extra fee.

Cons (things they can improve): -the walls are thin and when someone walks downstairs, or in the room, the bed is shaking. -dorm room aren’t cleaned every days, not a single trashcan in a room or washroom area. -AC in common area is always kept off. It gets uncomfortable and not possible to hang in the area. -The power went off multiple times a day during my 3 day stay. One of the reasons is they ran out of money to pay for electricity. Be mindful, when this happens, the rooms (dorms) have no windows and you are stuck in the dark. -Toilet paper is not replenished and if you are lucky to come across the toilet paper it is stored on top of the toilet bowl for everyone to grab, drop on the floor. Not sanitary! -No sunlight in rooms and no air circulation, feels like you live in a bunker. It smells accordingly. The window face the common area which also doesn’t have any windows. -No air circulation makes the flooring build up sweat and have a weird smell. Everyone walks with no shoes on, sweaty feet + no air corculation= smell. -The staff starts their work shift early morning and scream to each other from across the rooms, means they scream to your ear as the acoustic is big! -Overall noisy when people live in other rooms and present in the fasciitis or common area. -there are no lockers in the dorm rooms. The lockers in the common area are not secured and all open with the same key! Moreover not a single door is locked in the facilities and despite them claiming to have cameras in the common area, this will not help you should your things get missing. -The AC in the common area and kitchen is always off, you wish to walk into a facility after being outside in the heat and get a relieve but you are welcomed by a hot stale room when entering. Specially it’s uncomfortable when it’s 35C outside!

Clean and comfortable!

1. The location is amazing, very close to registan square and all other attractions are nearby. 2. There are many restaurants around main road where food is amazing. 3. Common area is quiet big to hangout and kitchen is also there with basic equipments. 4. The host was really polite and helpful. She even helped with late night registration slip as i had to check out early.

1. There is no water dispenser. It will really help as water is basic necessity i believe. 2. There was no electricity for a whole day. Not sure if it was one off case or regular occurrence. They started genetator though but ac don’t work on that. 3. There is a gap between your matress and wall in your bunk bed. Phones slip in and it’s usually very difficult to get them out.

フロントで働いているかわいい女の子がとにかく優しくて英語も話せて良かった。合計3泊シェアルームで滞在したけれど全くストレスを感じなかった。 途中水道トラブルがあって、部屋の水が使えなくなりそうだったが、即修理業者を呼んでくれて、治してくれた。共有スペースも広いし綺麗でこの値段にしては良すぎるホステルだと思う。 サマルカンドに来る人はぜひ滞在すべき！おすすめします
