Ed Hostel

I liked the automated, secure entry, the washer/dryer, and the great location.

I would have liked a bigger kitchen with more supplies for preparing meals. A nice kitchen also provides a common meeting area for a more hostel-like atmosphere and way to meet other guests.

Very clean, air con kept it cool. It was very central to the old town/square and just off the main road but far enough to not be noisy. It’s fairly new by all accounts so the finishings and bathrooms are all well kept. The shower had great pressure and temperature was spot on and the room had lockers to keep all your belongings (we had a private room). The receptionist was very helpful whenever we needed some support.

Nothing was bad about the stay. Ideally the bed would be a bit more comfortable - as its very tough but that seems to be quite standard when staying across asia. Also - remember to take your key to enter the shared bathroom. Was caught out a few times 😂

Location

The space felt very utalitarian and hospital like. Also weird smell in the room that I couldn’t get rid of.

Location is excellent, crawling distance to Tha Phae Gate and the Sunday Night Market. Front entrance opens to a dainty lane just away from the hustle of the main road. Useful back entrance opens to a parking lot with an affilated cafe. Quiet environment for a good nights rest. Facilities are adequate, with a functioning common dining area, kitchen, coin laundry and dryer. Private room was spacious with a mini fridge. Plenty of wall sockets. Hairdryer was provided. Proper room cleaning was done daily on request. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Private room toilet has a distinct sewer smell coming from the toilet bowl, probably pipe seal issues.
