The bed in the private room was comfortable and it was great to be able to buy a coffee or beer from the terrace bar. The pdf of information for the local area was useful and a nice touch, too. The location, although a little walk from the main centre, was easy to get to the markets and other neighbourhoods.

The private room window opens onto the terrace, the only social area, though it does close early enough so it wasn't a problem for us. The terrace looks great however none of the seats (except hammock) are that comfortable to relax on. We felt as though we had overstayed our welcome waiting for the night bus but Jasper did let us shower and leave our bags which we appreciated. It is a very basic hostel but, for the price, fine for a few days.

Our stay in Oaxaca was wonderful, Jasper and Mary are great hosts and kindly assisted us with our travel plans. The roof terrace is a lovely place to hang out and meet people. I would definitely recommend a stay at Casa El Mundo if you visit Oaxaca!

The hostel is located on one of the main roads so it was quite noisy but ok for a night or two.

how communicative the owners were about the issues that Oaxaca faces with water. I also had an issue with the toilet which they fixed immediately!

The problem with the water could happen anywhere in the city, I quess. The guys were trying really hard to fix it.

The owner Jasper was a lovely guy and helped us in so many ways. He sent advanced communications about our stay and was very helpful with other communications and advice during and after our stay. We left something at the hostel and helped us to his utmost to rectify our mistake.

Nice staff. Great value for money. Bed comfortable. It wasn't too loud considering it is next to a main road.

Pillows were unfortunately uncomfortable. There is one toilet on the first floor, the other toilet in the bathroom doesn't have a door.
