HI Gros Morne - Out East Adventures

Good value. Good location

There is only 1 range in the kitchen.

The hostel is above and beyond any hostel I have stayed at. They do little things that mean so much--providing coffee in the morning for a small donation and milk and sugar as needed makes things so much easier as you do not have to worry about bringing things. The place is spotless and chill, and the staff are top-notch! Go and chill on the back deck in between beautiful hikes!

It is perfect as it is!

Out East Adventures offered the best amenities that we have ever seen at a hostel. The kitchen was well appointed. The numbers of table and chairs and couches were phenomenal. Staff was super helpful.

Because we had our own vehicle, several of the guests approached us and asked for rides to different places. This was a little off putting to us, however; I understand that this is a regular part of a hostel experience.

Overall well-kept. Good central location in Gros Morne National Park with friendly, knowledgable staff and a small store for outdoor gear. We stayed in the private room, so we didn't have any issues with the state of the washroom. Appreciated the common area and kitchen facilities - take advantage of these by bringing in your own food; restaurant options are limited in Gros Morne. Also thought the two cats roaming around were funny, though surprising when you first run into them.

Bugs had a habit of getting into the building from the open front door and under our room door, and perhaps also from the window in the room (even though we kept it closed) - picked up some bug bites during our stay and couldn't say if they were from roaming the park or from sleeping ;) Noise from the common area did get in through the room door but quiet hours were well-respected.

Convenient location, great prize. I got a bunk in a 4-bunk co-ed room with bathroom - booked last minute and only one other person was staying in the room. Great place to meet others and connect for adventures in the park, get rides if needed, and hang out in the evening. Quiet at night.

Nice place, nice and very helpful stuff. 10 minutes walk from the shore.

Just note that they have cats over there. I like cats, but some can be allergic

The staff were full of good information about the area: hikes, meals, and amenities. Loved the big room for hanging out with others and staff. The room was large and a dream bathroom to ourselves
