Hostal Cuca Macuca

I'm so happy I picked this place to stay in. From a very get go you feel like right at home. Staff and people here are very friendly, social and help you with every need or questions you might have. Definitely eventually coming back here. The town itself is a hidden gem as it or not as touristy as other places on riviera Maya.

The ladder to my upper bed was not wide enough.

We paid for a very basic private room for 4 nights, and when I looked at the receipt it said I had asked to pay in US $ at their bad exchage rate. I went back to reception and told them I wanted to pay in pesos. The girl insisted the US dollars was just an estimate and my bank's rate would apply, but that was not true. It cost me an extra $20 US. I hate these kind of nickel and dime scams.

Nachts ankommen war etwas schwierig, Rezeption im 3. stock, nur 1 kleines wc+ dusche für 8 perüeo Etage

El personal fue muy amable siempre, tanto Vale como el otro chico de recepción. Me hicieron recomendaciones de lugares, transportes, excursiones, etc. Hay muy buen clima en el hostel. Iba por 2 noches y me quedé dos más.

Great location - near the beach, the shops and restaurants. Fluent English-speaking staff who were very helpful. Curtain around the bed for privacy.

No bed light. So bring your own torchlight. The bed rate/night is a bit high, but for the location and convenience, it probably works out well overall for a more relaxed visit to this town.
