"DO NOT STAY HERE! MARK SULTANA IS A HORRIBLE HOST."

We recently had the stayed at a two-bedroom apartment at Aqualuna Apartments. The Apartment was advertised as a clean, two bedroom apartment effectively sleeping 4 people. Immediately upon entering the apartment, there was a stench throughout the apartment which caused us to cough and gag. Following, we inspected the property and noticed that the properly had not been cleaned, as there was food left on the couch, hair scattered throughout the property and extremely high levels of dust and dirt throughout. Further to this, one of the single beds that was provided by the Host had damaged springs and rendered the mattress unable to be slept on. As a result, we attempted to contact Mark Sultana initially by telephone to convey these issues to attempt to come to a solution. Mark immediately became defensive, alleging that the apartment was “just cleaned”, that he “pays a lot for cleaners” and that he “just provided an outdoor table”. I advised Mark that when booking the apartment, we expected it to be as advertised. After receiving photos, Mark acknowledged that the apartment was substandard, and advised that his cleaner would be attending in 15 minutes to clean the apartment. Mark offered this after being informed by us that we were leaving the apartment for dinner and that no one was in the room. Mark did not respond to the issues with the bed or the stench of the apartment. Upon staying the night, we noticed there was mould in the bathrooms as well as further stains on tables. We again conveyed these to Mark who denied and accused us of allegedly damaging the apartment, but provided no evidence of such. As a result of the above issues, we were unable to remain in the apartment and were required to urgently book alternative accomodation. Mark then blocked my number. Following our return home, I contacted Booking.com who advised that they had reviewed the evidence and demanded that Mark refund the money paid. Mark has since ignored the demands and is unresponsive.

Bedroom smells damp and disgusting Sofa is very uncomfortable, it is a clickable futon and you can feel the springs and hard metal For the price you are paying, there are many better quality resorts available in Coffs Harbour, this is overpriced They will also try to scam you out of your $250 security bond by adding in false damages and cleaning fees

"Poor"

Hi Team, This booking was absolutely a bad choice for us, There were many cockroaches and insects in the rooms ,kids got afraid and we ended up sleepless night ..only for few hours we could after a long journey and tired day. Bath room doesnt have a door or a cover and also the items in the property were not as at least expected. I request you to do something about this and really really not happy pls call me on 0474129328 if i have to raise a complaint or send an email on this?? awaiting a reply and i can send all the pictures if that helps

Parking right at the front door, both rooms had an ensuite, good for family, visitor parking available.

There was no broom, mop, dustpan or brush or vacuum cleaner inside the unit, so we had no way of cleaning the floors if/when required. That should have been a basic inclusion. Cost of accommodation is expensive when you look at the per night cost.
