"Disappointing"

5.0

The captain on the ferry and the staff over to the island and back was very welcoming and an asset to the team. So was the man that welcomed us and did the safety briefing when we first got to the island. The nurse on the island was also lovely.

Went for a buffet in the late evening at the restaurant, $200 for a buffet and the choice was poor. Primarily Chinese cuisine that had lots of vegetables in it. If you don't like Chinese there wasn't much choice And I have to mention that the staff in the bar was incredibly rude. You'd say hello nicely, and not receive the decent hello back. Didn't even say the price, the only thing they said was thanks after you paid. Service was poor at the bar since I ordered a bacon and egg roll, waited 15 minutes. There was no sign of it so we went up to ask how long it would take, to be told that they have forgotten to take it out. It was cremated, and wasn't offered a refund. Needs better system when coming back on the ferry, as we were standing in the front and everyone was pushing behind us.

"See above."

10.0

Staff are great and ever so friendly and helpful. We originally had been located in an upstairs room ( did not know these existed when I booked) My wife just could not manage the stairs due to health issues. I requested to be relocated to a room on the ground floor, which was arranged instantly with no fuss. Again, thank you to the staff for the prompt action. It was our 60 year return to the island where I met my wife. We were treated like old friends got spoiled with bubble and a nice card on our welcome and special treatment again to to my wife’s mobility issues. Thank you the resort manager and all the staff.

"Paradise, a once in a lifetime experience!"

10.0

Our room opened onto a board walk to the beach which was incredible. We also heard all the birds and ocean at night, making it feels like a real paradise experience. For dinners, we found the portions very generous so loved to kids meals which were just enough when accompanied with a side to share.

The fan in our room was a little on the rocks, sometimes quiet and sometimes loud. But given the remote nature of the accommodation we made it work and could still get back to sleep.

"It's a magical destination. For those of us who appreciate and are keen to protect the Reef"

9.0

The island is magical. The abundance of marine life, the cleanliness of water and the water activities were exceptional. Scuba diving was incredible. Big thanks to the diving instructors, particularly to Jacob for his professionalism and making the experience so special. The overall experience reminded me of the old school Australian hospitality and I was so pleased to experience it.

Breakfast was not included in our rate. It was $35 per person for a buffet breakfast. Other breakfast options were limited to a sandwich at the bar. It was sad to see commercial pies as the only other option and no healthy food options. Some savory or low sugar/gluten free snacks or pastries and fresh fruit would be appreciated. There was only one dinner option: a la carte at the restaurant. The prices ranged from around $40 to $50 per person for a main. The food was largely ok but no consistent in terms of portion size and quality.
