"Not worth the money"

8.0

Room was spacious

No beach to swim, no sunbeds, flies were all over breakfast food and avocado was charged extra. Overall too expensive for the offering.

El hotel hermoso, la playa es con piedras pero tiene uno de los mejores sunsets y el personal de recepción fue súper amable.

"Beautiful experience, great food, helpful staff, and worth the value."

9.0

Beautiful, immersed in dense vegetation. Lava rock formations on beach were great for finding little critters at low tide. Staff very helpful to plan excursions. Origin (onsite restaurant) best dinner of our trip. Included breakfast was fresh and had lots of variety. Occasionally spotted howler monkeys in the trees of the property. Close enough to Tamarindo (20 min walk, 5 min drive).

Taxi to town expensive, only takes cash (instead we used Ubers), a few mosquitos near room entrance.

"Just book it!"

10.0

The property was lovely, the staff were superb, and the food was divine. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again!

I wish it was a little closer to the main drag in Tamarindo, but it’s really not far. (It’s far if you’re walking in the heat of the afternoon though.)

"Absolutely wonderful stay!"

10.0

Can not say enough about this place! We stayed for 3 nights and it was perfect. Room - Very nice, comfortable bed, GIANT beautiful tiled bath! Pool - So nice and perfect temp. Food - Breakfast buffet was decent. Not amazing but nothing to complain about. Food from the lunch/pool bar was good, a little overpriced, but good. Location - Perfect! It's not RIGHT on the beach but the walk is seriously one minute. You just have to cross a dirt road and walk a short path. It is a bit from town but that was what we wanted. I was a little nervous about staying in Tamarindo because everything I read is that it's loud, too "American-ized" and just a party town. I can see that about the actual town but the hotel is on the south end, about a mile away, and you feel like you're 10 miles away. It's very secluded and private but still a short walk to town - which was the ideal balance for us. Local Friends - Lots of wildlife around too! We saw some awesome lizards and there are howler monkeys on the grounds! Our Favorite Part - They did a free cocktail every night on the beach at sunset. We went all 3 nights. Some of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever seen and such a nice little touch for the hotel to do that.

I'm not counting this against the score but just so people are aware. The beach is not a super swimmable beach. it's very rocky and pretty rough. We did dip in quickly a couple times in on area that was calmer but you really need water shoes to do it comfortably/safely. If you want a sandy, swimming beach you just need to walk about about a half mile to Tamarindo beach - which is what we did and didn't bother us.
