"Fantastic location for a relaxing family holiday"

8.0

My daughters absolutely loved the friendly ducks! The lodge had lovely views, was in a great location and the pool and games rooms were fab for the kids. Didn't use the tennis area but it looked great too.

One of the bedrooms didn't have a socket for my teenager to charge her phone or use her hair straighteners but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing!

"Fantastic family weekend"

10.0

Absolutely loved this place, it was lovely and quiet and in a very good location for both Aviemore and landmark and the highland wildlife park, we had a great family weekend and would definitely come back again

The only thing I would say, is the beds weren’t as comfy as I’m used to, and it’s a shame the restaurant was closed

"Highly recommend"

9.0

It was a pleasant experience with family. Superb location (40 minutes from Inverness), nice views and facilities. The chap at the reception was exceptionally helpful.

Theses are rather recommendations: WIFI speed could be improved, could consider putting some boats on the small lake, possibly tyre service for cars/bikes.

Has a heated swimming pool

We had to pull out & make the sofa bed ourselves but most properties would do this as part of the service since they know that booking was made for 3 pax

"9/10 Experience"

9.0

We really appreciated the natural surroundings, especially the trees, the sunshine in the extension, and the fresh, clean air, and the trees and ducks. it made the whole stay feel relaxing and refreshing. The tennis and basketball courts were a great addition. Although they were a bit mossy and left your hands dirty, they were still very enjoyable to use. The facilities overall, as well as the location, were excellent. We also loved the small details, like the night lights around the lodges and the lamps along the paths and roads, which created a lovely atmosphere in the evenings. The area is very quiet, and with the ducks and the pond nearby, and by the window it feels very close to nature. The ducks tapping on the extension window for food was a highlight, and the kids absolutely loved it. One small suggestion would be to better advertise that duck food is available at reception, for example, by mentioning it in the rooms or lodges. We would definitely like to come back. One of the main reasons is that the place was clean, peaceful, and not too busy, so the facilities never felt overcrowded.

There were a few minor issues, such as doors in the extension jamming, a blown fuse in the bathroom extractor fan, making the use of a bathroom a steamy one and one power outlet not working, which meant I had to move around the lodge to find another to hover the place. The vacuum cleaner was quite old, loud, and heavy, but it still worked well. The internet connection was very slow, and although the TV had a smart feature, it wasn’t supported by the manufacturer anymore. This didn’t matter much to us since we were there mainly for walks rather than watching TV, but it could be important for others. The TV in the master bedroom had no remote but we didn't use it. I couldn't use the radio / CD player in the gym as there was no remote either. These were all small concerns, similar to the well-used flooring in the extension and a slightly damaged kitchen worktop. Overall, I would rate my stay 9/10. Everything else from the lodge itself to the staff, facilities, and location was excellent, but keep in mind they don't take phone calls if the reception is busy e.g. just before the 5pm which is understandable. The beds were good except for one in the small bedroom where my son could feel the springs on his back when sleeping there. The other one was fine.
