Cabilao Sanctuary Beach & Dive Resort

Fantastic stay. Very quiet, peaceful, out of touristy areas, definitely "lost" as we wanted it to be. The resort is well equiped, the room (sea view) was great, immense, great bathroom, with air con. The staff was very nice, always helpful, and rehearsing their upcoming Christmas danses. That was fun. We did massages every day because they were so good. Diving equipment is top notch. Diving sites right in front or a few minutes away from the resort. The diving is definitely worth the stay, huge 60-70m walls covered in incredibly dense corals. Can't recommend a better stay. Also great value for money.

The menu could be improved with a daily "fresh market fish of the day". If it's too hard to plan, go ahead and ask guests the day before if they want this for tomorrow. Overall, the food was great, we liked it.

Well equipped dive shop and use of speedboats for travelling to dive sites (rather than Filipino bangka boats). Ladies working in the restaurant area were lovely. Resort presentation is very neat.

This is not the peaceful sanctuary that we were hoping for. Unfortunately they allow groups of day visitors and whilst we were there a large and very loud family group took over the common areas of the resort during one day. Also relaxing in our villa was not possible as the non-beach end of the resort is a staff hangout area with singing and shouting. We were told we just have to wait until the staff go home at 5pm and then it will be quieter! Food was also an issue - one of the breakfasts I was served burnt (blacken) toast and also for a dinner they had visibly burnt my meal (it was black) but still served it to me.

If you are an influencer, please do not make any content about this paradise. Do not make mass tourism go and ruin Cabilao Island just for your sake. This hotel boutique is one of the best I have ever been. Diving in Cabilao is amazing. Diving equipment is very well maintained or new. Diving Instructor Mathias was professional and knowledgeable. Food is incredible, and every dish we ordered was made with love and amazing ingredients, and you could definitely taste it. Facilities are very nice. Staff is super friendly and helpful with any requests. If you are searching for a romantic escape with your partner, this is the place for you. It is an exclusive place. Please respect nature!

The Transport from the airport is relatively expensive 120 euro go and back. I suggest arranging it with the hotel it is easier and stress free. I tried to arrange it my self and you can save maybe 15 euro each way but you need to like negotiating and can be stressful.

It has a nice feel. Great food. Comfortable beds. Staff try hard.

There was no WiFi in our room, the bathroom wasn’t really done up nicely and looked unfinished. The shower could be better.
